Our monetization platform features a fully developed integration with the Panopto platform.

Connecting your InPlayer and Panopto accounts

In order to pair your Panopto and InPlayer account, log in to InPlayer dashboard on https://dashboard.inplayer.com/. Navigate to the OVP Integrations located under your account Settings and choose Panopto, as presented below:

To proceed with the integration you have to enter your Launch URL, Instance Name and Application Key from your Panopto account.

Locating the Launch URL, Instance Name and Application Key

To locate your Launch URL, Instance Name and Application Key, log in to your Panopto account and follow the guide below.

Launch URL

The Launch URL is basically your account URL with the “LTI/LTI.aspx” extension added at the end.

In our example, the Launch URL is
https://inplayer.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/LTI/LTI.aspx
In your case, the Launch URL should be
https://yourname.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/LTI/LTI.aspx

Instance Name and Application Key

The other two parameters can be located in the Identity Providers section of your Panopto account. To navigate to this section, log in to your Panopto account and on the left-hand navigation bar, click on System > Identity Providers.

Here you will need to add a Provider. Click on the Add Provider at the bottom and add a BLTI provider type as seen on the screenshot below.

By clicking Save, your new Provider will be saved and you can copy and paste the Instance Name and Application Key from this provider.

Finishing the setup

Now that you have the required parameters, go back to your InPlayer account and copy and paste all of the values. Click on Save.
You should see a Success Message.

Creating an Asset

To create an asset in the Dashboard, all you need to do is follow the few steps below:

  1. Log in to your InPlayer Merchant account and proceed to the Assets tab.
    https://dashboard.inplayer.com/assets
  2. Click on the +Add New button.
  3. Select the Video asset type.
  4. Click on Panopto.

This will open the asset creation window where you will be able to modify the look and feel of your asset, add pricing and select videos directly from your Panopto account.
Before continuing forward, make sure to give your new asset a Name in the top-left corner.

Modifying the asset

The asset creation window contains four sections.

Description

In the Description section, you can give your asset a title, description, preview image and change the text on the Buy button.
*Tip: You can advertise the price of your digital content directly on the Buy button.

Price Options

In the price options section, you can add and remove multiple prices and select from a range of currencies.

The Asset

The third section is where you will choose the video which you want to protect, directly from your Panopto platform.

Additional Information

This field is not used for the Panopto integration and can be skipped altogether.

Once you have done the entire modifications click on the Save button, located in the top-right corner.

Embedding the asset

Once you have connected your Panopto platform and created your asset, it’s time to embed it on your website and start selling.

To get the asset embed code, click on the action button of the asset you’ve just created and locate the button in the top right-hand corner.

We also advise that you should use the Paywall V2, which is an updated, more optimized and modern version of the V1.

Choose your Branding theme by selecting it from the drop-down menu, as presented below. If you don’t have any Branding Themes or have set a default theme, you don’t need to select anything from this drop-down menu.

Copy and Paste the InPlayer’s JavaScript file in the <head> of your website, then copy and paste the Embed Code in the <body> section of your website.

You will see the paywall show up on your website and you are now ready to start your digital monetization journey.
