Vox Musica – Soli two – Life in Color

Streaming to you live from Vox Musica’s home of Beatnik Studios, Vox Musica presents a performance of solo music featuring two of our virtuosic vocal artists: sopranos Arunima Kohli and Samantha Harrison.

Dr. Kohli’s recital presents the music of the Americas from the 20th and 21st centuries in both English and Spanish, elevating the voices of LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and otherwise marginalized composers (Dunphy, Larsen, Orrego-Salas, Bor, Golijov, Lecuona) and poets (Gill, Echavarren, Guillén, de Castro) to reflect upon the depths of human experience through the lenses of nature and growth.

Ms. Harrison’s recital will feature music by Florence Price, Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn, and Lili Boulanger whose music is full of color–lavender, soft white butterflies, blue and yellow velvet pansies, green willows. Their music calls on the sensations of wet tears, rivers, and the beauty of love that transcends even death or loss.

Join us this Sunday, 18th of April at 5 pm PST as we blossom into a new Spring and a new consciousness, and celebrate the deep strength inside of all of us.

Feel free to stay after for a live interactive conversation with some of our artists, composers, and performers.
