Siddis Brass – the most important event for Norwegian brass banding!

Siddis Brass is an annual entertainment contest for brass bands, arranged in concert halls in Bjergsted Musical center (Stavanger Konserthus, Stavanger Conservatory of Music and Stavanger Music School) the first Saturday of November.

Next to the annual Norwegian national championships in Bergen, Siddis Brass is the most important event for Norwegian brass banding. The event is widely recognized as an arena for bands to try out new concepts and every year there is more and more music commissioned for the event.

Each brass band performs an own choice program of entertainment music within a timeframe of 18-24 minutes. The limit vary according to which section they participate in:

1. section: 24 minutes
2. section: 21 minutes
3. section: 19 minutes
4. section: 18 minutes

Recordings from the competition have been broadcasted in the Norwegian national broadcaster NRK, in addition to Norwegian TV2 and British BBC. You can watch live streaming and recordings on BrassPass.tv.
