What are Register Fields?

Register Fields are additional fields on the paywall that provide descriptive metadata about your customers. Metadata helps you discover, identify and describe your customers, and truly understand their connection and feelings about your product or service.

Register Fields

Register Fields are located under the Branding section of your account, as presented below and once you access it you will be prompted with the Register Fields section.

Register fields allow you to add additional fields which will be displayed in the paywall preview. To do that click on the   button and a pop-up window will appear, asking for configuration of the Fields details.

Types of the Register Fields

There are 5 different types representing the Register field that the Merchant needs.

Input

The custom register field of type Input consists of three additional options:

  • Name of the Input field is used as a value in the database
  • Placeholder represents the hint to the user what can be entered in the Input field
  • Default Value defines the default value of the Input field

Example: You can use this field type to require customers to enter their Birthday. The field name in the database will be written as Birthday and the customers will be prompted, by the Placeholder value, to enter their Birthday in the specified format (e.g. DD/MM/YYYY).

Paywall Preview will add the Input field as the image below:

Dropdown

The custom register field of type dropdown consists of three additional options:

  • Name of the Dropdown field is used as a value in the database
  • Placeholder is the hint to the customer for what can be chosen from the Dropdown field
  • Select Options offers the list from which the customers will choose and is defined by two parameters
    • Enter Option Key – Option Key is the parameter that will be written in the database and is automatically written once the option label is entered
    • Enter Option Label – Option Label is the parameter offered to the Customer to choose from

*Note: When the last drop-down option is specified, please click on the plus button, in order to keep the last Option saved and offered to customers.

Example: You can use this field type to require customers to choose their Age range. The field name in the database will be written as Age range and the customers will be prompted, by the Placeholder value, to choose their Age range in the specified ranges (e.g. 18-25/26-35/36-50).

Paywall Preview will add the Drop-down field as the image below:

Radio

The custom register field of type Radio consists of three additional options:

  • Name of the Radio field is used as a value in the database
  • Label represents a caption for the radio field in the customer interface
  • Radio Options represents the two separate fields that create the Radio field
    • Enter Option Key – Option key is used as a value in the database. Changing this will create a new option and delete the old one
    • Enter Option Label – Option Label is the Text displayed for the end-user

*Note: When the last radio option is specified, please click on the plus button, in order to keep the last Option saved and offered to customers.

Example: You can use this field type to require customers to choose their Gender. The field name in the database will be written as Gender and the customers will be prompted, by the Placeholder value, to choose their Gender in the specified options (e.g. Male, Female, Other).

Select a timeframe from the drop-down menu and the desired columns. If you do not select any columns, the report will contain all the columns from the drop-down list.

If no column is selected, the report will include all available report fields. Finally, click on Generate.
Once your report is Generated, you will be notified and you can download it in the View Reports section.
