How To Use Facebook For Marketing

Facebook-Marketing-469x328At the moment, Facebook is the biggest social platform and a place where you can market your business, develop your brand identity and create good relationships with potential customers. However, before you start using Facebook as a marketing tool for your business, you should have the following things in mind.

Have A Clear Goal And Strategy

It’s important to have a clear goal for using Facebook, and a good strategy to achieve that goal. That gives you a direction for your Facebook marketing and a way to measure your success.

Create A Human Tone Of Voice For Your Business

Facebook users like to talk to people – not a business. So, the person who manages your Facebook page must be able to reply in a friendly voice, using a style that suits your business. They also need to have the liberty to change the company’s jargon or official style in expressing things.

Nurture Your Relationships

In order to build a good relationship with your Facebook audience, you should try and engage in conversations, provide useful content and talk in a friendly voice. Encouraging them to comment on your posts is just another thing you can do, of course with the help of a good content. However, make sure you always respond as quickly as you can, because if you fail to do that your audience will gradually start drifting away.  Building a good relationship takes time, so be patient.

Learn More About Your Customers Via Facebook Insights

The more you learn about your Facebook audience, the more you’ll be able to create content that will interest them and meet their needs. In order to do that, you should use Facebook Insights, which is a great starting tool that will tell you more about the people who liked your page.

Post Frequency

Unlike traditional media or other online media,  social media are built around frequent updates. Some guidelines recommend posting at least once a day, but the bottom line is that you should post when you have something interesting you would like to share and see from there how your audience will react to it.

Use Facebook Advertising Tools

Now, if you really want to raise brand awareness and start using Facebook as a sales channel, then it’s time to implement Facebook advertising in your marketing plan. You can either use Facebook promoted posts, that are individual Facebook posts which will reach a greater audience if promoted with advertising budget or decide to use Facebook ads, which are usually used to increase likes or drive website clicks.

Always Measure Your Results

And last, but not least, measure clicks, traffic, site visits, page likes, reach and more.  As Jan Rezab, CEO and co-founder of Socialbakers said: “Only if you measure those will you be able to fully understand your fans, and next time you’ll come with an even better-targeted offer.”

Remember, you shouldn’t advertise on Facebook as you’d do in a magazine or on your website. Marketing on Facebook is all about connecting with as many people as possible and getting them to interact with you on a daily basis.
